Title: Vanguard loose wire location
Post by: ian hall on March 02, 2005, 05:24:14 AM
On my Vanguard camera XC21A/B there are 2
wires or cables going from the lower
housing up into the lens housing. There is
a thick one containing 5 wires inside and a
small single brown wire. I noticed that my
small brown wire had come loose from its
solder joint and was hanging outside of the
lens housing. I searched for an hour with a
magnifying glass but could see no obvious
evidence of where to resolder this wire.
Would anyone be able to tell me where it
goes? I would really appreciate it if
someone could look on their camera and
describe its location. I wonder why this
brown wire is not offered the "pullout
protection" of being included inside the
sheath that protects the other 5 wires?

Hi Ian,Don't know if this helps, but in the
ninja, which could be same, the single brown
wire is only connected on one end. It's the
antenna to receive movement commands from
your RF remote. Have you tried to see if it
works?

Thanks Dave for pointing out what should
have been obvious to me. It was working
fine but when I saw that loose wire it was
begging me to fix it by soldering it
somewhere. I geuss that explains why it
isn't inside the protective sheath with the
other wires. Also explains why the wire is
a lot shorter than the others. Well since
it ain't broke I geuss I won't fix it.
Thanks again Dave....Ian Hall
