I'm right there with you.  I didn't get any
support either, and I ended up figuring out
everything on my own.  I feel for you.

Did anyone have trouble getting their
shipment in the first place.  I ordered
twelve days ago and they charged my card the
same day.  Still no product at my door.

Is this their normal practice?

Wow, I suspected this behind dirt cheap
prices. They cannot afford to have a good
customer service support.

Good that I read your comments before buying
the product. I'm outta here.

I finally got a response from x10. I was
quite surprised actually as I have sent
quite a few emails....I have been asked to
ship the defective products back at MY
EXPENSE so that they can be replaced. I
will try it and report here what
happens...will be shipping to them
(signature required) on March 21st

This is a recent e-mail I got from X10.  i
responded about problems with there
downloadable only software, and have not
heard from them yet.  I had a little luck
with their online chat, but was cut off
before it was over.

As an electronics hobbiest, I am satified
with X10 products so far.  They are cutting
edge, cheap, and with a lot of promise for
the future, kind of like cheap computer
kits in the 70s.

As someone who seriously needs home
security, and surveillance equipment, I am
disapointed.  At least there is
this "Community".  It seems we are the
main "customer service" and "Research and
Development".  Figuring it out on our own
is kind of exciting to me.

Good Luck!!!

Actually the low-light camera is just
that.  Low light.  Not total darkness ...
it has never been sold as an Infra-red
solution.

I have a few low-light and they do require
a low amount of light.  Put it next to a
colour camera and you will see the vast
difference.  Since you have a camera
already set with a unit #, simply set up an
X-10 light with the same ID and your
problem is solved.  Even a low watt bulb.

I have had nothing but great assistance
from X-10.  On the phone, and e-mail.

My only complaint is that when they e-mail
they never include the original question
which is just sloppy management.  Call in
person if you can.

I also see a lot of people that call before
reading the instructions, who then state "I
had to figure it out on my own".

Customer service is there to help you if
you cannot figure it out.  They are not
there to read you what they sent you
already.

I think they do a great job, and when
something is defective they promptly
replace it.  You cannot ask for more than
that.  Nobody sells a product without
problems.

I have a B/W low-light camera in my
daughter's room and with a 40W Light bulb
near the door, we are able to see her just
fine.  Little grainy but not bad.  I been
using the online chat they offer to help with
software download (multiview and webview).
Excellent so far, they where helpful and the
response was good.
