Title: Boosting camera signal?
Post by: ruthy on September 04, 2005, 11:56:33 AM
We have 3 cameras.  One is behind a reflective shade, one
is behind a plastic miniblind, and one is behind a curtain-
(they are inside the house, pointing out).  Is there some
way to boost the signal to the receiver?  When the curtain
is closed, or the reflective shade is down, the camera
signal is weak and we are unable to see anything.

Thanks for your help!

Have you considered putting the cameras
outside the window so that you don't get
the reflection?  If you are filming through
glass you might need a polarizing filter.
You can try putting one in front of the
lens from a digital camera and see if the
picture improves.

Another advantage of being outside is that
the audio will be much better than coming
through the glass.

Thank you Pilot.  I worried about kids stealing the cameras
if we mounted them outside the house.  For some reason
the cameras are working now.  Not sure if there was just
interference the day we activated them.  It would be nice if
the signal were stronger though. I appreciate your
suggestion!
