Title: XCAM2 resolution question
Post by: pat on October 28, 2005, 05:57:57 PM
Just a simple fill-in-the-blank type question.

Under bright daylight illumination you can
produce an image which will allow you the
read a car's license plate numbers at _______
feet.

I really can't get much farther away than
15-20 feet.

I've tried all the chanels and have the
antenna of each component correctly
positioned and located only 12 feet apart.

More than the simple fill-in-the-blank
answer...I have 8 x10 cameras, instant on,
older ones, and night watch.  None of them
will read any lettering smaller than the
size of the side of a tractor trailer.
Even when I carefully focus each camera,
they will not see a license plate at all,
not even the plate, not to mention the
lettering on the plates.  If that is what
you need, find a good CCD camera and avoid
x10.
