Title: HR12A PalmPad Remote Modification
Post by: river on November 29, 2005, 06:59:46 PM
Does anyone out there know how to modify
this remote to disable  the built-in delay
signal? Note the red LED stays on for a
while AFTER releasing any button. When
dimming, there is virtually no fine control
of lights!

You mean yours stays on for a few seconds
and keeps sending a code? I will check mine
later today, but I don't think that is
normal. It maybe defective.

OK checked mine. With the advanced
controller function of my interface. For an
on or off command mine sends as an example.
For House Code A Unit 4 and ON
A4
AON.
For a bright or dimm it does go twice as you
found. Example:
A4
ADIM
ADIM
I have not seen any mode to make it do a
single bright or dim.

Thanks Brian. The 'double dim" - as you
say - is normal on all of the many HR12A
units I have. Have you tried to dim lights
with this unit? - it renders almost totaly
useless the built-in dimming capability of
any dimmer. Compare with the fine dimming
capability of your Maxi Controller! Even
older models of the PalmPad (the one with
the black dimmer rocker) did not have this
engineered mistake. Please, someone out
there, lead me to a simple mod!
