Title: Having cameras work with sercurity system
Post by: BJohnes on May 20, 2006, 06:55:29 AM
I would like to have my 3-XCam2 cameras turn on when my alarm is triggered. I would also like to be able to view my house through these cameras while I'm on vacation. I have Active Home Pro, My Home and I Witness Video installed on my computer. I just purchased everything but am not sure how to set it up correctly. I've had the DS7000 sercurity system for a year now.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am no expert but was recently researching the Ocelot system by Applied Digital. It has the capability to interface with security systems and is x10 based. You would have to purchase the secu16 module also and  IR A\V control is possible with secu16ir module. However the system is fairly complex.

X10 is working on a new plug-in roumoured to be for the security console. In the mean time have you tried the freeware program x10dispatcher (http://x10dispatcher.com/)? I've read think it was at Accessha (http://www.accessha.com/forums/index.php?) that it will recieve the a command for it (think it is all lights on) and can send a macro from that. Thus running anything you wish. ;) :D The thread is in the X10dispatcher section!
