Wired camera diagrams?
« on: October 28, 2006, 07:29:24 PM »

I know I've seen a wiring diagram for the anywhere cam here SOMEPLACE. But I can't find it anywhere. I need to know which wires are video (+/-) and power (+/-).

What I have now is the six wire phone plug.

Question: What is the pinout for the Anaconda, NightWatch, and XCam Anywhere camera cables?

THANK-YOU Alex....err Puck.  That was what I needed.  I buried my lines to a couple wired cams. Along side the phonewire (6-wire) extention I buried a few extra wires....S-video, CAT-5, 4 wire phone... just-in-case.

Just-in-case happened (it always does) and a critter chewed Through the small part of wire (under the deck) that wasn't underground.

I am having a problem getting it to work.....I am not sure why yet.

I have my camera back in service! I bought a crimper that can affix four or six wire phone lines as well as Cat5 ends (what is that RJ11, 14 and 45?). The roughly 50 feet of Cat5 worked fine!

I do believe:

RJ11 is used for phone lines (and X-10 CAMS) and can be 4 or 6 conductors.

RJ45 is for Ethernet (PC LAN) with 8 conductors.

Not sure about RJ14.

Thanks Puck.

At least I got my driveway cam back! I can't believe I had so much trouble getting the wires in the correct order. I guess it will make for a humorous story at my DNA (National Dyslexia Association) meeting.
