Inverted video
« on: January 04, 2007, 10:36:43 AM »

Any ideas as to why one of my cameras would suddenly begin showing vertically inverted (upside down) images? I have a 5 camera system using AHP/iWitness/Smartmacros and My House. The other cameras images are correctly oriented. My system has been working correctly for over a year until this one camera view 'flipped'.
Thanks,
Cary

The head of the camera rotates about 180 deg. so check to see if it got turned some how. I had an Anaconda that the wire was a bit tight at the camera end and when I used the Ninja it pulled and would turn the head causing the image to be tilted.

Sounds to me like you have a friend or neighbor with a good sense of humor.

One neighbor lady told my wife and me she thought it would be funny to trip my perimeter alarm system, by dancing it front of one of my cameras in the middle of the night.

My wife immediately said: "Oh Dave would love that, he'll post it on the Internet"!

I haven't seen any dancing yet.

I ended up resolving the issue by unplugging the camera, letting it sit for a while and then plugging it back in - basically a hard reset.
