Motion detector camera activation
« on: February 03, 2007, 09:40:05 AM »

From what I read an X10 motion detector can be used for camera activation and recording. The drawback with the Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras is they have to be pointed at the detector's activity field. This is difficult when there are more than one detector in the coverage area of a camera. The specific hot spots for camera coverage are often preset in the camera for manual use. How about modifying the IWitness program so a camera AND a preset can be used for the video? This feature can be set (within the program) so it is only available for cameras with presets capability.

Actually this should be able to be accomplished Now!
You'd need a macro for each motion sensor they would look like this
  • Sensor address is the trigger
  • Turn on cam
  • Go to Camera Preset
  • Start video record
  • Delay
  • Turn off video record
  • Turn off cam

I have had a macro such as this  set for months! ;)
Note: The sensor address has to be different then the cam address! ;)
