So much for open forums without
censorship.  Gets hot and the weak can't
take it.

What a real brainy character this DWD
is, "The reality he suspected".   My
goddness, where do these creeps hail
from?   We live on the same planet with
these guys that have nothing to do other
than play with their dying hardware and
suck up to a company like X10.   Time for
one of the last brains to leave, I'm outa
here.   This X10 company and their pathetic
following has been a drag for too long.

They found too many posts from someone that
Mr. Smart thought all along?  Geeeeeeez.

Hey Bob - if you have a problem with owning
up to a post then DON'T POST - it's as
simple as that.

I wonder if "BOB TAYLOR" has a vested
interest in sending people to Smarthome and
the 1132CU, since he seems to have a lot of
problems with people who really want help
and will work to find solutions for thier
problems.

X10Pro, do us all a favor here and kill this
thread. It has degenerated to a point where
it is not productive or usefull.

Rather than kill it can we please please
(please) get back to the issue.

It seems like the vast majority (at least of
those on the forum) would deem AHP not quite
ready for prime-time. But what about the
CUP? Does it have many short falls compared
with a working version of AHP? How about
it's strengths? Is there any point in
holding off for a feasible version of AHP?

JP2510

It all depends on your needs, 1132CUP
software “look and feel” is different but
it works. I wanted just to control some
lights with motion detector, different
levels of dimming at night, and had to be
reliable and work disconnected from the
computer. I did not encounter any problems,
I like the smart macros, the clock is rock
stable. Basically initially I had the same
setup I had with AHP, everything has worked
as expected; with AHP I could go no more
that 1 day or 2 before resetting and to me
it’s not acceptable; I had no problems with
tech support I used email to communicate.
At the end depends on you needs as a buyer
you should chose the products that does
serve your need, keep in mind X10 has the
lowest prices in the industry, you can not
expect to have the same features an
reliability of a higher end product at
these prices.
The CM15a + AHP is to flaky but it’s not a
secret; if you want the same functionality
with other products you need to invest
significant more money.

JP2510 - I didn't want to touch this
thread - but OK - to your direct question:
As a former AHP user - I can share my
personal experience with the "CUP":
1) Very, very, very reliable - My program
is downloaded/disconnected.  Mine was
bought in December last year.  I have not
had the reported time keeping issues(units
mfr'd before October last year-old v5.12).
2) Loads of capability re:macros (only
with "Plus" software-"Essential" is like
AHP without smart macros, or may be even
less capable)
3) Software is fairly easy to learn, very
capable-less pictures/pretty
3) NO RF capability - needs TM751/RR501 or
V572AB used in combination.
4) No cameras or AHP's TM751 RF hopping
feature.
5) May be replaced/augmented by "Insteon"
version in near future (don't know this-
just guessing)
6) My experience with AHP was tragic from a
reliability perspective - but I gave up on
it many months ago, so I can't comment on
its current viability.
7) And the most important question - would
I buy it again??.....YES.
