Commander stop function

I am able to program the record function but the commander will not turn off the vcr after the programmed time. I followed the directions for programming the stop mode after programming the record function, but then neither works. am i forgeting something?

I'm having the exact same problem.  One thing I was able to do, which didn't fix the problem, was look at the IR emitter with night vision goggles.  I see the "Record" IR code being sent but the "Stop" IR code is not being sent.  The programming when just like the instructions said.

I figured it out, I didnt relize that the vcr commander cannot be changed from 5 min., unlike the active eye can.
