Thnx for all the input (much rather do it by
forum rather than emails, but thanks Bob
too).

Sadly it seems i've got the answer i
expected.

But what about the 1132CUP's downfalls. I've
been advised that AHP's conditional
abilities are far superior (or should i say
that the CUP's is rather poor and limited).
Any thought s on this? Tcassio - i believe
you have a lot of experience with the CUP,
how have you found it?

1132CUP(with smart home manager plus)
conditional macros are by far superior to
AHP and most of all they work as expected.

Some problems can be traced to the users
computer and are due to incomplete
installs, removales, playing around in the
registery, other programs update programs,
spyware, viruses. You name it the
posibility is there to cause problems with
ANY other actions. You can't just put the
blame on X10 because something doesn't work
right. Some problems though can be blamed
on X10.

X10 Pro - You are to blame for some people
wanting to post thier e-mail addresses
since you started to respond to others by e-
mail rather than posting the answers to the
problem here in the forums. We would like
to know what the solutions are as well, in
case we have the same dificulties. It would
be easier to post once rather than respond
to who knows how many individual users.

X10 web installer is the cause of many
problem, especially if you want to go back
to a previous version, they are not
following the basic OS rules on
install/Uninstall; after the final
uninstall when I switched to a reliable
product(1132CUP) I had to manually clear
many registry key and remove their “X10net”
manually, user should not need to do this,
since improper registry editing can render
the computer unstable.X10 has invested to
much time on how to track customer than
working on improving they product, in a way
it’s nothing more than a common spyware.

I think X10 has a lot of guts providing a
totally uncensored forum like this. I dont
see many or ANY other competitors doing it
online and realtime.  Maybe because they want
to cut out remarks about competitors products
?  I think most of the folks here are those
with some or lots of trouble with their
CM15A.  I have to say there must be hundreds
or maybe thousands that are enjoying fairly
trouble free operation with their CM15A.
Mine works pretty darn well.  Day after day,
month after month right on schedule. The only
complaint , at the moment, the slow response
if multiple signals are received within a
couple of seconds and a glitch in status
reporting.  ...oh, I doubt if I would put my
e-mail address here...smile... someone would
probably submit it to a thousand spam sites
for me..hehe   and if I abandoned the cm15a
(and get a refund) I just dont think it is
right to keep (I mean on and on and on)
advertising a competitors product here...
point is , I am happy with mine but am
looking forward to the next harware upgrade
that will put some serious robustness into
the unit.

Donald,
I agree that some problems are caused by
user error, however, as far as AHP co-
existing with other software is definitly
an X10 responsibility.  As a network
administrator I have seen my share of
poorly written software but AHP has to take
the cake.  X10 should have software
engineers that have more operating system
savy.  By the large number of problems and
different types of problems I honestly
beleive that alot are releated to AHP
conflicting with other programs/operating
systems.  I beleive that X10 beleives that
there product is a solid product, that
statement is probably based on the fact
that it runs well in there lab under
optimum conditions,  but we all not that
that is not the situation in the real world.

I was getting worried, you are late joining
this thread.
Most people do not bother the return the
dysfunctional CM15a; they just tossed it
away,like 2 of my friends.

SteveRF,
I will agree with you that there are a lot
of users that are happy with there setup.
These users are probably running a simple
setup.  Once you start using smatrmacros
and try do do some complicated thing is
when the problems start.  I'm sure that
thoes here that are having problems can be
considered power users with some computer
experience who are pushing the system to
the point where the hardware/software can't
handle it.  I am doing some stuff now with
my current setup that I beleive the
AHP/CM15a could handle.

Carmine, thanks for being worried..smile..
I am getting my hurricane stuff together so
have been busy...tiz that season again on the
gulf coast.  This time I want to be better
prepared.

TCassio, I'd be interested in any of your (or
anyone elses) really tough, neat, funny,
utility uses for AHP smartmacros.. I am sure
there are some really good uses I could tap
into if we shared more macro ideas.  Now that
mine has been pretty stable for a few months
I am ready to push it more....probably a
mistake..I may regret this...hehe
