Although I don't have a Dish Network DVR  the Icon remote does have a learn function and any remote I've had it was able to learn, other then the RF functions of my X10 universal or mouse remote! ;)

Hi Tom,

I have a Dish VIP 622 and it works just fine. I had to go to the learn mode for a few function but it was painless to setup.

If we're taking about the same remote, I was never able to get it to learn my Dish commands.
Otherwise it has proven to a wonderfully amazing remote.

Are you using the Icon remote RF? I just got a new Dish HD-DVR and it's remote is RF. My silly IconRemote just looks at me like have a banana growing out of my head when I try to point the RF remote at it and make it learn the RF signals. "duhhh"

Does the Icon Remote RF work like the IR remote at learning the "signals".
