Non Decora style Flourescent Wall switch
« on: October 21, 2007, 08:24:06 PM »

Does anyone know if there is a company that makes a wall switch for flourescent lights that looks like the good old ws467?  I hate having half regular switches and half decora style.

Knightrider,
Welcome to the forum.  From your post, I believe you're looking for a toggle style switch that's flourescent capable (correct?).

If that's the case, then it's the old good news, bad news scenario.

Smarthome makes a X10 compatible switch (Insteon ToggleLinc relay 2466SW) and dimmer (Insteon ToggleLinc Dimmer 2466DW) which will fit a standard "toggle" wallplate.  Downside is they will not match an existing X10 WS467 and they cost $46 retail.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but I thought I'd give you some options.

Thanks for the info.  I knew that I've seen these things before. I just couldn't remember where.

They also need a neutral power wire in the switch box.

I think that is true of any wall switch, be it toggle or Decora, that can support a fluorescent fixture.
