Tinting Of Dome For Camera's
« on: October 14, 2007, 12:40:32 PM »

Hi,

Has anyone used anything to 'tint' the protective dome on some of the X10 camera's?
You know, like the camera domes at Wal-Mart, etc.

Thanks,

I have a Sentinel (a domed X10) but..no, I haven't even considered tinting it. Although I don't think a light tint would hurt the image quality, I like the in-your-face aspect of visible cameras.

Actually I even "announce" the video monitoring to trespassers (<a YouTube video link).

Based on Zach's recent posts and his perceived intelligence level, I would say crayons.

here is a 4X gray tint i found. Click Here

It is used as a spray on Neutral Density filter. I have never used this product. Any ND filters I use are gel sheets or screw on filters. You might search photographic web sites for something. ND filters won't effect color only light density.

Try a LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT and so I make it clear a LIGHT spray of black spray paint just some little sprays. it will kind of hide it. get some anti static bag cut them up tape to dome to. that may help.
