Intermittent long delays in command execution
« on: December 03, 2007, 08:44:21 AM »

I've been conducting some simple tests using MyHouse to turn a light on and off. 9 times out of 10 the command is received and executed pretty much instantly. However, I occasionally have the situation where there is a significant delay between my toggling the LM465 switch icon and the light switching.

This delay can be upto 2 minutes. The command is not 'lost', it is eventually executed - albeit very late.

I thought that my internet connection might be at fault, but running a constant background ping to google.com always gave a response time of around 30mS.

Tried monitoring the CPU use on both 'remote control' and 'home' PCs in case something else was locking out the X10 applications, but everything looks OK.

Has anybody else seen this sort of behaviour?

I have seen delays but not to the extent you have! ::)
I expect the situation will get worse as more people start using MyHouse Online and the server gets flooded!
One more good reason for the next update to have the option to allow users to connect directly!
