x10 monitor log like heyu
« on: March 17, 2008, 12:14:36 AM »

Hi,

Is there Windows software that logs x10 events to a log like heyu software in linux?  I would like to write some customized scripts based on what x10 events happen.

Thanks in advance,

There is somewhat of a log that says commands. I don't know it that's is what you want but you might want to try the active home pro SDK kit if your intrested it is free. Some one on the forums could post a link, because its hard using a PDA on the internet.

You can write a simple program in C# that would do just that - even log data to a text file.
google "C# x10" for the dll.

fchin803 If you supply a little more info like what PC interface your using some one may post a link to what your looking for!
There are several third party software programs for the CM15A that will do that!

If you run Linux, why not just use Heyu?
It can execute your scripts based on X10 events, RF events, flag states, and/or fault conditions.  And with no need to parse its log file.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it doesn't work.
X10 on Windows is like that.

Hi,

I am using a CM11a to my serial port.  I was using Linux but I would like to convert to Windows if possible to do the same thing for various reasons.  Are there tools like heyu monitor to do logging?  I will look at the x10 sdk.

Thanks,

Be aware that updating to Windows might make the CM11A unusable. Both WindowsXP and Vista have problems with certain motherboards and COM ports.

Since you have the CM11A, the X10 AHP SDK will not work with it! :(
It only works with the CM19A and CM15A  :(
