Crap, so what would happen if I used G16 on the eagle eye and the wall receptacle?
There is no G17

UC + 1 = G1 (It loops back to 1 again)

Still not sure what UC is?  rofl

UC = Unit Code (The 7 in G7)

UC is the Unit Code. Like the HC is the House Code is A-P. Unit Code is the 1-16.

From what I understand a motion setting of G16 will loop around to G1 for dusk dawn.
:' Oh Puck already confirmed the loop OH well.

Well, now I understand where g7 is coming from, the next question is why????

That makes absolutely no sense that an eagle eye motion sensor spits out a code for which it is not set to.  ??? ??? ???

It is set to g6, why does it send out a g7?

I am sure I have missed a post or two since I don't get here all that often.

Has a Dusk Dawn sensor. When it gets dark it sends an on and an off when it gets light on the motion address +1 Unit Code. Now if you happen to have it sending on a module with that address it will control it. If you happen to have the module going on and off and its load shines on the motion sensor. You get a nice cycle of on and off lights.
I believe the Active Eye Motion sensor can be set to not send the Dusk Dawn code or even only detect motion at night.

Ok, I did not know that, thanks for the info.
It's been a year or so since I set up this eagle eye in my shop. Guess I should have read the whole sheet that comes with it.
Or maybe I did, and did not remember.  ;D

I do see now in the eagle eye instruction sheet that it sends a dusk and dawn UC+1 code.
The instructions that came with the eagle eye mentions the UC+ 1 thing, but it does not say that you can disable it  ???  ???

Well I believe there is a hack out there. Where you can disable it. Warranty is gone then.

Warranty on a $8 item?     rofl

Don't care about that.
Where is this "out there" you speak of?   ;D

I don't know of an electrical mod, but you can just lift the lid and place a piece of electrical tape over the small photo-cell inside. This will prevent it from seeing a change in light levels, and not sending out the UC+1.

Yaeh, ok, I have it apart in front of me and that's what I figured I would do.

I only use it in a dust room to detect motion, I don't need the night/day photo cell for that.

Thanks.

Of course all this only matters if you plan to use the G7 code for something else. Otherwise the KISS approach is to just ignore the G7 signal.  ;)

Put a piece of black tape over the photocell and it will always think it is dark. Not to be confused with the IR detector used for motion sensing. Yes motion is sensed is temperature change in a set amount of time.

I put some black electrical tape of the photo resistor yesterday.
Works fine as just a motion sensor.

Checked the x10 traffic monitor and g7 is not being sent by the eagle eye any more.

Glad to see you resolved your problem and congratulations to Puck for his keen eye in spotting the dusk & dawn times.  :)%

Yes, thanks.

The times were not quite dusk and dawn and that threw me off.

Actual dusk was about 20 minutes later than g7 was going off.
Dawn was about the same deal when g7 actually triggered in the mornings

Being that the sensor is inside a room that is on the north side of a building, both dusk and dawn tigger times were off quite a bit from actual dusk and dawn.

Anywho, the sensor is behaving now,
thanks
