telephone busy
« on: August 26, 2008, 08:33:44 PM »

Hi all, a newbie here.

I've had my ds7000 connected for two days now.  my wife didn't deactivate this afternoon so got an alarm.  Worked just fine.

Except, now the telephone connected to the same line says "Line in use".  I disconnect the unit and the and the telephone is ready for business.  Any hints?????

I've connected the earphone speaker, but nothing is being enunciated.

OK, let me ask another question.

Is there a time limit between testing the unit?  I'd like to sleep tonight semi-knowing if this will work tomorrow.

I've reprogrammed numbers, message and tried several tests.  I get about every 4th call and it doesn't seem to go down the line, i.e., to the next number if I do not answer.

can you just program in memory "2" or do you have to repeat memory 1-4 in order?

Has anyone else had difficulty with the dial out feature?

ok, after about 6 hours of working with this thang, I think I'll use it as a trigger for a real controller.

If the invaders get in and sucker punch the ds7000, a real controller/callout device activated by it will be working in the background.

Appreciate all the input, you guys were great.
