Holiday Ideas
« on: July 21, 2008, 11:55:41 AM »

I know its early but I like to plan ahead. Has anyone started any holiday automation plans. Like Halloween and Christmas. I'm going simple this year all the lights on the house and trees for Christmas are going to change colors from blue to green and then red. So the whole house will be one of those colors at a time. I just ordered most the x10 stuff . I'm going to make a control panel so everything plugs into one area and have some switch's so I can manually use it also. The control panel is so I can use it for other event/holidays also.

The controls will be easy for me just getting the lights up onto the second story roof line will be fun. lol

Least that's  my plan for now I'm sure I will make it worse and worse as I go.  rofl

a couple of years ago i used 6 lamp modules on my various colored lights. they faded in and out and the tree changed colors.  I made a looping macro to run it.  Kinda messed up my other x10 stuff, but was way cool.

This year I'm making no effort to put up any decorations at all.  I'm not going to have any electronic lights changing from red to green to blue, nor even any shiny, glittering pieces of tinsel casting beams of light across the room.

Instead, I'm going to take pictures using an XCAM2 so it will just look as though I have!

Actually, I'm kinda waiting around for x10 to start up another Halloween contest.  I've been brewing something up!

I still envy Carson Williams setup. Unfortunately it takes about $2 grand at Light-O-Rama and another $600 in lights....sigh.

I thought this would be as good as place as any to hide a Happy Thanksgiving to all the regulars (you know who you are) here at the forum.

(I will delete this later)

Right back at ya Dave! We have a lot to be thankful for.

How about something out front that "activates" when people walk by?

...and Merry Christmas to you'all!

How about something like RCaddict's DIY robodog setup.... with the MP3 player playing Christmas music on outdoor speakers. Heck such a setup could probably be but together with hardware store supplies.
