At least one forum contributor has replaced the fly swatter directional antenna with an omni directional antenna,  but I do not remember where the omni came from (cordless phone?). You might try searchnig the forum.

I don't think anyone knows the answer to that. I did use one of the 2.4 GHz antennas off of a dead router to modifity a camera. It worked out pretty good... better on one channel than the other three.

Dave !! It was you who modded the camera and with a wireless router antenna, not cordless phone....sigh, I couldn't remember who did the mod, but knew it was a regular contributor. My brain juice is all dried up.

I performed a basket-full of mods it a short while.

Bill had gave BVC the ability to control camera robotics (Sentinel, Vanguard, and Ninja). Well first I had to actually buy a Ninja... I ended up modifying the Ninja, the camera, a video receiver antenna, the CM15A external AND internal antenna. It was worth it!

With my CM15A and Home Automation Computer in my basement office.... I can set in my living room easy chair... and tell my ninja camera where to look.

Since that video was made... I realized just how much more HD content has been added to the free selection by my cable company. It is difficult with my TV to switch from HD to standard content. So I spent much of the day today converting my camera views over to a tiny (7 inch widescreen) LCD TV. I used BVC's IR ability's and a IR re-sender (like the power-mid) To automatically turn the TV On. This will also allow me to keep an eye on the driveway while watching (HD) TV. Keep an eye on my YouTube Channel to see the progress.

I plan on making the old LCD TV look like a digital picture frame.... I think in the near future the picture frames will be the way to view the security cameras. I have way too much free time!

I have tried it as well prior to converting to wired.

Idea: Re: Wireless camera reception

The result was worse for me.
