I have a solar system that I made myself. I'm wondering if I can use some sort of x10 device as a switch between my grid power, and my battery power. For example, have a command on my pc so that if the battery voltage/amps reaches a certain point, it automatically turns off grid power, and uses battery power...

If this has already been posted, a link to the old thread would suffice. I just don't have time to read a million posts on my lunch breaks...

let me jump in!
Currently their isn't anything. Of coarse that doesn't mean you couldn't do it!
You must make sure you have a pure sine wave inverter or your going to fry any X10 powerline module!
Some inverters have PC software. What all you can do with it depends on the brand!
You may be able to use the software for the inverters to do this.
Magnum has a generator switch that allows you to switch it's inverter from grid/generator to solar.
I believe you can do this with the Outback inverters as well.
Using x10 and creating a switching device may end up costing just as much as using the device the manufactures already have in place!
