RecvAction doesn't work with security devices
« on: October 01, 2009, 10:31:37 PM »

Does anybody know how to receve RF communication from security devices. Onalert software does that somehow. I tried RecvAction but it doesn't work for security devices. Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Julian

If you are refering to X10 Security Motion Sensors and Door/Window Sensors I think you answered your own question...CM15A with the software suite. If you are refering to other brands of security devices, no.  There really are no frequency (other than FCC band restictions) and/or digital coding standards for "universal" wireless security devices.

Thanks Dave. I do use CM15A. What I really want to know is how can I receive events from Door or Motion sensors using the SDK. I want to write my own application instead of using OnAlert. Any suggestions?

Ah now I understand. Sorry I don't "roll my own".
