I own the RF Icon... and I really do like it. I was part of the beta test for the Icon. Originally... I/we were able to program a macro that allowed me/us to select a button to assign more than one device function to. So it was simple to turn on both the TV and the cable box with one button press. That was simpler/better than it is now.

I think the review of the iconRemote RF was fair.

Being able to assign the pictures, words, and X10 addresses to control my X10 devices and setup is AWESOME. That is something that should be expanded on! Maybe a touch screen X10 RF only remote... picture frame... that could set on my side or end-table as well hung on the wall. Being an excellent coded keypad for my DS7000... is icing on the cake.

I thought that the Gizmodo review was off.   Huh

I didn't care very much for the first Icon Remote.
With that said, I think the new Icon Remote is TOPS !
It controls my TV, Blue-ray, Satellite, Stereo & Home Automation.

The one thing that it does lack is control of the WAF.  laugh  HAPPY

Besides, the Harmony is $200 to $350. Icon Remote $50.
A lesser cost of $150 to $300. HooRah !  Cheers

But unfortunately U-Verse is not in the device library, and the remote will not learn U-Verse commands.  So that makes it a deal-killer for me.

I think it needs a PC interface for easier programing. Otherwise it is great.

I doubt U-Verse will be added. In the FCC Database for Type Acceptance Compliance. I found a U-Verse remote that is an OEM from X10. Maybe a contractual thing.
