X10 outlets where both plugins are filtered.

Better yet .....

X10 outlets with separate house & unit codes for each plugin and both plugins are filtered.

I don't think it is feasible to fit the required 15A or 20A inductors into something that would fit into a standard electrical box even without any switching electronics.

If this would be a X10 controlled receptacle, the filter must be on the load side.  And it would take two separate filters if the receptacles are independently controlled.

Thinking about that more, it could be done with a single filter on the power feed if the incoming X10 signal is tapped off before the filter.  A crude filter could be done with a single series inductor.  However, that has to have the full current rating of the receptacle, and would still be large.

What about a filter module with 2 filtered outlets ?

Jeff; I have done that with a 10 amp Smarthome FilterLinc and it still has the unfiltered pass through if needed.

 B:(  <duck69 dumb, dumb, dumb !!!

Duh ! So simple & I didn't even get the  -:)

BTW, is it acceptable to plug a filter into the controlled plugin part of a X10 outlet & another filter in the pass through plugin.

How about this ? Would it work ?

Not very well.  That filter is essentially a 120KHz parallel resonant circuit that will load down the signal if it exceeds a certain level.  I have not found it to be effective combating noise from CFLs and various switching power supplies.  It will do nothing to isolate a signal sucker.

A filter that will isolate a problem load must be placed in series with that load.  While it is limited in its current capacity, the X10 XPPF works very well if you stay well within its ratings.  It is a low-pass filter, and will not only block noise near the X10 carrier frequency, but also broadband noise as well.

All the other filters I am familiar with are notch filters.  They will block frequencies near the X10 carrier frequency, but have limited effect on noise at other frequencies.  They work because most X10 modules have a narrow band filter in front of its detection circuitry to reject frequencies outside the X10 passband.
