Running a Linux setup from an Android Phone - Questions
« on: March 29, 2010, 02:48:19 PM »

I got Heyu set up on my desktop and it works great for the X10 light switches that I'm using for right now. Currently I open up SSH on my phone, remote into my desktop, then run a macro for turning on/off certain lights. I'm wondering if there are any Android applications that you know of which will work with Linux and give me some sort of graphical interface for operation.

Well I did find a few that people created online but I should also mention there's the Heyu graphical interface which people can use and will run on any phone with a web browser.

Okay I took a look at Domus Link and I don't see anywhere to download the application for my Android phone. All I see is the software needed to upload to Apache.

That's correct it is not a native app. It is a webapp.

You would host it on your home automation server and access it via the lan and/or wan, depending on if you setup port forwarding or not.

Easy enough but how do I get the iPhone theme on my HTC Hero? How do I get any of those themes on my Hero?

dL auto detects the user agent (browser) and directs it to the proper 'theme' skin. Right now there is only default, which is what you will see on a PC or anything other than an iPhone. and then there is the iPhone skin which will be displayed when you login from an iPhone.

If you want iPhone to be the default skin then you must set that in config.php. From there you will see the iPhone skin from any device you login from.
