newbie with questions on using older x10 modules
« on: April 06, 2010, 07:50:44 PM »

I am a newbie - just rec'd my purchase of the active home pro software, and some modules.
Questions I have are in regards to some older x10 modules i purchased a few years ago, and whether there is a way to get them to work with the axctive home pro software.

1) DM10a wireless motion detector - i'm very interested to get this to work with the software but do not see it listed. Am I out of luck ?  What wireless motion detector module WILL work with the active home pro software ?

2) PLM01 lamp module - these look very similar to the new LM465 lamp module I rec'd. Are they equivalent ? ( OK, found these in the pro module section !)

3) chime PH02

4) transceiver module TM751 - will this work along with the cm15a, or is not needed, redundant ?

5) remote control HR12a - work with this software ?

Thanks for any advice and tips....

LT

All Lamp Modules and Appliance Modules, regardless of whose name is on the case are all made in the same Chinese factory.  I have a bunch of modules with Radio Shack, Magnavox  and Stanley on  the case, as far as AHP is concerned they are Lamp and Appliance modules. X10 modules with "Soft Start" have to use the long vanished LM14A 2-way Module to make them work properly.

This list of part numbers may help you. As Dan indicated most of the modules where OEM from X10. The Black and Decker ones where also but not on the list.
http://www.x10pro.com/pro/crossref.html

1) Is a security type motion sensor. Did you get any of the Added AHP programs like On Alert as part of the kit?

3) PHH02 is the X10Pro version of the X10 SC546 or the retail packaged RSC15A Chime Module.

4) TM751 is a transceiver that can receive RF commands from things like the X10 Motion Sensors [not the security ones] hand held remotes etc.
It has no power line receiver in it so the CM15A can not control it by power line. I believe AHP could be set to send an RF signal to control it.
Since the CM15A also can receive the X10 RF signals it may not be needed.
5) HR12A Palm Pad can send an RF X10 command to the CM15A as it can receive those signals. On point. AHP defaults to Auto Tranceive all house codes. You may have to go into the hardware configuration and pick the tranceived house codes.

What version of AHP do you have and did you get any of the added software add ons?

i got the latest version of AHP via download with emailed registration keys (no CD supplied with purchase, had to contact the helpdesk about the "missing" software)

I purchased all of the add-on software packages - smart macro, iwatchout, myhouse-online, activehome pro home security

I'm looking forward to getting these devices setup and playing with the software.

I have one correction to my earlier post.
The DM10A can be used with AHP for motion detection. One difference from most X10 Motion Sensors. It only sends an On signal for its set address when motion is sensed. It never sends an Off after a period of no motion as the other models do. It does have the dusk dawn feature. Where at dusk it sends an On and at dawn an Off to the next highest unit code. Like Motion on M1 will send an on and off to M2 at dusk and dawn.

Also there is no software CD. All the AHP software is by download and you use the emailed registration numbers when needed.

In AHP you will find some of your Pro model part numbers in the Pro Tab of module choices.
