What does the Battery icon mean on this module?
« on: May 14, 2010, 01:21:25 PM »

I have brand new batteries in this DS10A and have replaced new batteries twice.  I cannot figure out what this battery icon is for?  Can anyone help?

the DS10a and MS10a send a "low battery" signal in their transmissions when the battery is low.

Interesting, but these are brand new batteries.  I have replaced them twice with brand new batteries and the icon doesn't change..

Alkaline.. I couldn't afford to buy enough of any other type for all of my x10 stuff!!  I bought a pack of 20 and a pack of 16  for all of my DS10's  I changed them again with more brand new batteries and still the same.  I installed the same batteries in all of my other DS10's and MS10s and this is the only oddball.

You may have to do a reset on the DS10A.   (Press and hold the DS10A "Test" button for a few seconds).

In testing with a variable power supply to determine the level at which the low battery signal appears, I noticed that the low battery signal persisted even after raising the voltage back to the fresh battery level.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it doesn't work.
X10 on Windows is like that.

Will reset the sensor required "remarried' with the unit?
Or will the reset the sensor clear out the code on DS700?

Thanks,
