outdoor power boxes
« on: July 06, 2010, 06:22:22 PM »

I have a number of things outside I would love to use appliance modules on, however I only have one outlet outside containing only two receptacles and it is in wall of the house that people walk nearby all the time so I would not want it to start looking ugly with a huge cover.

I was thinking I could go straight up with one extension cord above the patio cover and mount a "power box" that could house a power strip that could hold multiple appliance modules.

however when looking for these power boxes, they seem to only be available in the UK. Whats the deal?

Seems to me I've seen weather proof boxes. Have you looked at your "big box building supply store" or electrical supply house? I've buried powerline to outlets outside... it helps with the Christmas lights. I have also used appliance modules in a used (and cleaned) jar and some cord siliconed into the lid.

But now I have the (no-longer made) Black and Decker outside modules.

FWLROD Modules. I have a few myself.
Kind of a unique module.
No address dials.
Programs like a Socket Rocket.
Clunks like an appliance module specifications and all. Though is called a Lamp Module by B&D.
