PV inverters and X10
« on: July 04, 2010, 06:33:38 PM »

Our recently installed Solar electric system has been connected to the grid for a couple weeks now.  This may have been touched on before, but I'd like to confirm that the inverters and their communication on the power line has absolutely no effect on my X10 at all.
Our system consists of 16 225w panels, each panel has an EnPhase micro-inverter, so 16 inverters in all.  3.6KW
They send their information via the powerline on the 140khz frequency, if I remember right, I believe X10 is 120khz.

The photo below showing each panels output, as of 1:10 in the afternoon, via the powerline to the PC.

X10 has been running at 100%.

Thank you for the very helpful information.

Do you know if the inverters are pure sine wave?

Yes, they are pure sine wave, and put out 240v to match the grid.

Well, if you live in the southern New Mexico area, Sunspot Solar out of Las Cruces installed it. Super knowledgeable, and friendly people.
