Stream Live Video Help
« on: July 10, 2010, 10:59:42 AM »

New to the forum...
I have a question about streaming live video.  This is the equipment I have:

2 XCams (A1 and A2)
2 Eagle Eye Motion Sensors (A1 and A2)
1 TM751 (A)
1 PC Transceiver
1 Video Receiver (12)
Vanguard Software

I got my first camera set up about a month ago-working good.  Could watch constant live streaming video .  I hooked up my second camera last night.  It is doing what it should be when it detects motion by switching on the appropriate camera.  However, I cannot get either camera to show a constant live streaming video.  After so many seconds both cameras switch off to a static screen.  Isn't there a way to show at least one camera on constant live streaming video?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

The motion sensors send an "off" command after a certain time period.  You can turn the camera on manually, but if the sensor trips, it's going to send that "off" after a while.  If you get Active Home Pro, you can get around this using macros to monitor the sensors, having the cameras on a different address than the sensors (say A3 and A4), then letting the macros control the cameras.  I assume the "PC Transceiver" you have is a CM19A.  If that's correct, all you need is AHP V3.271.  There might be a way to do this with Vanguard, but I know nothing about Vanguard.

There is currently a "deal" on AHP (as of 7/10/2010) for $10.00 at http://www.x10.com/promotions/sw31a_ed_ir_0628_v2.html and you get another CM19A and an IR Commander with it. Don't let them tell you that you need another transceiver - your TM751 will work nicely. ** BEWARE ** - you need the Smart Macros plugin with AHP to do what you want to do.  Even though the deal mentions
Quote
Add IR control to ActiveHome Macros for the FIRST TIME EVER!
it doesn't show the plugin in the "what's included" section!  You might have to pay extra to get the plugin!  If that's the case, you might want to search X10.com for a deal that includes ALL the AHP plugins.

Hope that helps!

Another thing with motion sensors is the Dusk Dawn sensing.
Your A1 Motion Sensor will use A2 as its dusk dawn address and turn the A2 camera on and off. At dusk and dawn.
The A2 sensor will use A3 for dusk dawn.
Cameras work in groups of four. Same House Code and Unit Codes 1-4,5-8,9-12 and 13-16. Send an on to any in the group the other three go off.

I'm not sure what this has to do with this thread, but I think the Scratch and Dent sale ActiveHome Pro with ALL plugins for $29.99 is a better deal...
