Two CM15A in the house
« on: August 01, 2010, 09:50:11 PM »

Is it possible to have two CM15A units both listening for all house codes and unit codes in my house?

Thanks...

Depends on what you want to do.
Can you give more details?
It could cause problem if things like a RF signal from a remote get to both of them and they each send a power line signal close to each others transmission.

Lots of info exists on this topic.

Here is one link found with a search: Multiple Cm15A's

Actually I was thinking about extending range. Currently, if the battery in a remote goes even slightly weak, it stops working because the CM15A is a bit far. If I can have an extra one near, the remote will work even with weaker battery. The problem is that when I put two of them in, I get "looping" effect. I have a macro which turns on a lamp and dims it. This macro keeps running forever and the lamps keeps going from full->dim->full->dim...infinitely. I cannot segregate the house code because then I will need several remotes. Reading the articles, it looks like looping effect is unavoidable so I will have to think about something else.

Thanks...

Mod the CM15A antenna for greater sensitivity. Search the forum for "antenna", "antenna mod", etc.
