CM11 with heyu - Transmit ok, but receives nothing?
« on: September 30, 2010, 11:52:29 PM »

Hello,

I recently dusted off my old CM11 (Actually a CM12AU - Australia), and installed a recent version of heyu on my FreeBSD server to talk to it.

Sending commands out works fine, ie. I can do a "heyu on a1" - the module turns on and heyu logs the event.

The docs imply that using "heyu monitor" I should be able to see incoming events sent by other controllers in the house, but this doesn't work for me. Sending an A1 on command from elsewhere (Bedside alarm clock thingy), the module still clicks on, but heyu sees nothing happening.

Can anyone suggest what would be the common causes of this one-way only behavior?
Has the CM11 always been able to see incoming events or was it added at some point? Mine is quite a few years old.

Info output from my controller:

10/01 13:46:50  Request CM11A info
Heyu version 2.8.0
Configuration at /home/martin/.heyu/x10config
Powerline interface on /dev/ttyp0
Firmware revision Level = 8
Interface battery usage = Unknown
Raw interface clock: Fri, Day 273, 13:46:50
(--> Civil Time: Fri 01 Oct 2010   13:46:50 EST)
No schedule has been uploaded by Heyu.
Housecode = A
0 = off, 1 = on,               unit  16.......8...4..1
Last addressed device =       0x0040 (0000000000000001)
Status of monitored devices = 0x0000 (0000000000000000)
Status of dimmed devices =    0x0000 (0000000000000000)

Thanks for any advice,
-M.

Someone smarter than me should be along shortly... :)

I'm really a heyu novice too, but my very old CM11A has been able to detect PLC activity and send them back to the PC. So, yeah, heyu sees them on my PC.
