Mapping house/unit codes
« on: October 07, 2010, 03:06:54 PM »

Using this to think out loud and share with others  >!

There are 4 bedrooms, including 1 master.

I would like each bedroom to either have a palm pad or a mini controller, depending on how I want to split up the house code. Meaning that if I advise people not to switch from 1-8/9-16 or 1-4/5-8 the house code can be shared between rooms.

Each room should have access to their own bedroom lights, and appliances, the house hvac and alarm system, and personalized state machine macros such as going to sleeping, or weather announcements, etc..

So for example house code P for Pseudo Device, B for bedroom devices, H for HVAC, E for Emergency, and M for macros:

Master Bedroom Palm pad:

P1 on -> Local lighting B1 ON
P1 off -> Local lighting B1 OFF
P2 on -> Local Fan B2 ON
P2 off -> Local Fan B2 OFF
P3 on -> Sleeping state Person 1 ON (triggers macro to turn off local lights/tv etc)
P3 off -> Sleeping state Person 1 OFF (Usually controlled by a timer/macro)
P4 on -> Request weather announcement (Only if Sleeping state is off, turns on/off local speaker)
P4 off -> Some other announcement request maybe
P5 on ->
P5 off ->
P6 on ->
P6 off ->
P7 on -> HVAC Auto H11 ON
P7 off -> HVAC System H11 OFF
P8 on -> Arm Home ON (Heyu command, will have proper checks in place)
P8 off -> Disarm (Heyu Command

I will continually update this as it solidifies. Also Are there any remotes/controllers with a dimming back light? I guess the mini timer (is there a maxi timer?) and the icon/nstinct remotes have back lights...maybe I could work them in some how...
