IR/RF icon remote HELP ??
« on: November 01, 2010, 08:47:40 PM »

I just got a new IR/RF Icon remote.   I also have x10 video sender. I have Direct TV in my living room, and TV in my bedroom. Video senders are set up correctly. How do I get the the remote to communicate with the video sender and receiver ??

You have the new Nstinct IR34 remote and the VK82 video sender kit?
The VR46 receiver portion of the video sender kit. Can take the IR commands from the remote and send them to the VT46 transmitter portion of the video sender kit. Where it can use the IR cable stuck to the device you want to control.

Unfortunately the video sender kit uses 433.92 MHz to send the received IR commands and the IconRF {IR32 or IR34} remotes use 418MHz to directly send commands to the receiver in the PowerMid kits. So it looks like the IconRF's can not directly send commands to the VT46 to control your Direct TV.

Set the IconRF remote to the Direct TVs code and use the IR from it pointed at the VR46 to control the Direct TV.
