One button to turn on multiple devices - power button preferred
« on: December 06, 2010, 11:36:40 PM »

I tried searching through the forums before posting this, but didn't see a definitive answer on this.

What I'd like to do is hit the power button and have it turn on my TV and Tivo DVR

I went through the Learn screen, but it doesn't seem to respond when the power button is depressed to learn the commands.

Any tips? Sorry if this has already been answered and I haven't found it yet.

I'll just mention that one of the problems is that Nstink only offers a Power Toggle, and not discrete Power On and Power Off.   So, such a function you are requesting, might turn the TIVO off if it is already on.

This is how you do it:

If that doesn't work your device may not be able to learn from your existing remote.  (And yes, it is "power toggle" so it's turning devices on/off based on their current state as mentioned above)
