MyGarage - 500 Error - Server not found
« on: February 06, 2011, 09:26:50 AM »

Hi,

I recently installed the MyGarage plug-in in AHP and am having a problem I can figure out.

Then I use the WiFi address, http://192.168.0.1:8777/garage?Xid=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx it works fine.

But when I use the 3G address, http://iw.x10.com/garage?Xid=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx I get 500 Error - Server not found

I've tried putting my AHP PC in the DMZ on my router thinking it's a port issue but there was no change.

I forwarded port 8777 on my router to my AHP PC and used my external facing IP address and that worked as well.

It's just when using iw.x10.com that it fails.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Lance

I also purchased and installed the MyGarage Pro package and I am having the identical issue. Is the iw.x10.com site down? What do we need to do to get this fixed. The product is useless if this does not work.

Thanks for your help

Since this is a user to user type forum. We may not have the information on the servers status.
Though the X10 programmers do seem to check the messages here from time to time. At least for now.

I have My Garage Pro and can't connect from outside my router.  Firewall problem...possibley??

I also don't have any status on the GUI indicating the door is up or down.  Does anyone know the fix for this?

OK - I'm new to x10, but have been able to get this work - sort of....

To access mygarage using your cellphone:
1.  Be sure you have port 8777 forwarded to the PC that you have AHP installed (if you don't know how to do this, visit http://portforward.com/).
2.  Make sure AHP is open (it can be minimized to the task bar).
3.  Replace iw.x10.com with your external ip address (if you don't know it, go to http://www.whatismyip.com
4.  If you have a static ip address, use that instead.  If you have a dynamic ip address, you might want to set up a name so you don't have to keep changing your external ip address.  To do this go to http://www.dyndns.com/ or to http://freedns.afraid.org/  Either one will let you set up a free account, have you download a client program that will monitor your external ip address and link it to the name you select.

If you have iwatchmobile or onalert mobile - these steps work too.

Hope this helps - I'm still trying to figure out how to access MyGarage page without having to change the xid link every time my external ip address changes.

From my understanding X10 has sent this error 500 server not found issue to
the developers to fix this problem of not being able to access my garage thru
my garage. I hope there is a fix to this cause this was suppose to be a easy set
up as avertised on the website. I have tried everything and accessing 3g has been a difficult task
I need this feature to work as soon as possibble.
