Macro Mystery
« on: March 21, 2011, 04:35:01 PM »

Help !!!
Here is the scenario:
I have a motion sensor(MS13A) E7, dark only, 2min off delay.
It triggers a Macro E7:
Macro E-7 is used to turn on and off a Soft-Start WS12A (G7) switch, which controls a hallway light.

Macro: E7 ON
       1. Delay 00:00
       2. Extended Code G7 (Command 31 Data 1D) Turn on 47% Bright
       3. Delay 2:00
       4. Extended Code G7 (Command 31 Data 00) Turn off -1%
       5. Delay 00:00
======================================================
Here is what happens,
When sensor is triggered 90-99% of the time, the G7 light comes on at 47% brightness.
Within seconds of this event L1 & L4 get turned on (MYSTERY ???).
Macro times out G7 is turned off and guess what L1 (Pool Lights), and L4(Landscape Lights) remain ON!

Unable to determine cause of problem, history log does NOT show and L house codes or anything other than
the normal Macro events.
Solved problem by changing (sensor address to D2) Macro to D2 and problem appears GONE?

What happened??? Can anyone provide feedback?

I had the same problem with a VERY similar macro....
The delay as the first step is pretty much required BUT try making it 1 second instead of 0.
I had to do the same thing because the CM15a would xmit a trash command even with a delay of 0!!!
Try it and see what happens.... you really won't notice the 1 second delay... I don't think it is really 1 second.

Thanks for the feedback, the time delay doesn't have much to do with it. Tried from 5 sec. to 0 sec. and the symptom
is the same... What I am trying to understand is "How changing the sensor address from G7 to D2" solved the problem !
And YES, I did erase memory, removed batteries, and all of the NORMAL :' things one should try and nothing helped.
Looking for the MAGIC BULLET >*<

Gus,

Do you have a macro that turns on L1 and/or L4?
Is so - what is the trigger code for this? is it similar to G7 or E7?

You may try changing the lights codes L1 & L4 to see it this also stops them coming on.

You could also try changing the hallway light to a non softstart to see if that has an effect

I think that the pool lights modules are getting confused by the x10 signals E7.
