Weird problem with AHP
« on: July 04, 2011, 07:35:14 PM »

 :' Sorry for my poor english.  I am a french people. :'

Since I have the 3.310 AHP version I have a really weird problem. I tried everything but nothing solved. I do not understand what is happening. I searched the forum, but I found nothing. Can you help me?

Normally everything is OK

Macro   A6 (OnOff Flush)
Macro   A Off (OnOff Flush)

But one time on ten  CM15a transmits a series of codes

Macro   A6 (OnOff Flush)
Macro   A Off (A1, A6, A13) -----> Why A1 and A13 On?  In the macro, I have A6 only????

The same thing for an other code.

Receive   H5 (Mpp4 On LAbrisAuto)
Receive   H On (Mpp4 On LAbrisAuto)

But one time on ten  CM15a transmits a series of codes

Receive   H5 (Mpp4 On LAbrisAuto)
Receive   H On (H1, H5, H10) -----> Why H1 and H10 On

The same thing for powerflash, switch, etc.

The problem is AHP 3.310?

Thanks for your help. :)%

Are you in Canada or Europe?  If  Canada, are you in Quebec?   Is your AHP from X10USA?  Looking at your post, What's the "flush" in your Macros?

Quebec, Canada ----> X10USA.

OnOff Flush: Float switch to make contact to a kr19a (with serial capacitor to send one signal only) when I flush the toilet. With a universal relay I runs a perfume applicator (my wife loves it  rofl  ).

E12 On Trigger macro ----> Kr19a

Macro
Set Flag 2
A6 On  -----> Universal Relay to runs perfume applicator
A6 Off
Delay 10 seconds
A6 On
A6 Off
Clear flag 2

Whith my macro, I have only A6.  Why this macro sends A1 and A13 one time one ten?

Do you have any other X10 Transceivers in the house?
Like an RR501, TM751, Security Console?

The HR12A palm pad does send the commands more than one time. For reliability. Not sure if the macro is getting confused by the multiple palm pad commands.

I have a TM751. This is necessary because the PalmPad is located too far from the house, outside. I need the TM751. For the past year, it all worked.

As a test, unplug it and see if you still have the problem.

Good idea.  ;D

My TM751 is in my gazebo last 3 years: -40 'F in winter and + 104 'F in summer ( or more - the max of my thermometer). It may be tired.

I will inform you of the results.

It isn't tired if it is causing the rouge X10 codes. The rogue codes could be from the TM751 and CM15A signals colliding on the powerlines. Just leave the TM751 disconnected for a few tests. I understand the question is why did it just start...I dunno. Have you changed out any CFL bulbs lately. Or moved or unplugged a X10 noise maker. I am wondering if the you might have had something making electrical noise which served as a road block to prevent the collisions between the TM751 and the CM15A. If you still get the phantom X10 addresses after disconnecting the TM751 then I am all wet. Won't be anything new.

I finally found my problem, but after hours and hours of research and testing.

A very big thank you to Dave W. Brina and H. for their help.

First I replaced my RR501 -> no result.

Then I replaced my 4 TM751 -> no result

So I removed all RR501 and TM751 -> no result

Yesterday I found the culprit -> a capacitor. -:)

To open the door of my house we have to use a keypad. The keypad is connected to a Powerflash. The relay that unlocks the door is activated for 3 seconds. Powerflash will activate the macro to open the lights in the evening. To avoid collisions, I installed a capacitor across the Powerflash that delays of 15 seconds to return to Off. The capacitor is defective and becomes "open" and "normal".  When I activate the relay of the keypad, the cable is long, the Powerflash received repeat orders and fast, causing the collision.

The Powerflash is on the same outlet as the Universal relay that activates the fragrance dispenser. When the Universal relay operated, the vibration of the relay "open" and "closed" the capacitor. The energy stored in the capacitor activates the Powerflash, causing collisions.

The drawing is attached.

Thanks.

Good troubleshooting.
Also what a unique way to use X10 products.
