the module was working fine, then the light went off and maybe it came with overshoot because the module stopped working.
which would be the problem?

I know the problem is very generalized, but any help would be great.

Are you in America or French Canada? What amperage was the bulb?   If the bulb went bang and shorted, it could affect the module and remember, Appliance Modules don't dim.

Unfortunately when a bulb burns out (nice blue flash and audible snap) it frequently also destroys an X10 Socket Rocket, Lamp Module, and Wall Switch. But this is the first instance I have heard of where a bulb burnout effects an Appliance Module. Plug the Appliance Module in to the same outlet as your controller. With nothing plugged in to it, does the Appliance Module make any sound when you send it ON and OFF commands? If not, it is probably trash bin material.
