XPCR single phase only ???
« on: October 10, 2011, 10:54:45 AM »

Using just a single phase, neutral & ground.  Can I wire a XPCR to a 3 prong plug (capping unused wires) and plug it into a outlet just for the amplifier results?  Or must it have at a min 2 phases?

Thanks
Chuck

Nope, won't work.  In fact, as I recall, seeing only one phase for any length of time causes power supply in XPCR to release canned smoke.

Single phase amplification can be done with the Smarthome Boosterlinc.

"... canned smoke ..."  was what I was afraid of - OK, that's out.  As for your other suggestion - boosterlinc - @ $120 -  rofl.

So, I'm running cat5 out to the greenhouse, installing my SBC (arm) and 11A right there.  (film at 11).

Thanks

Quite a few of my customers have retired their BoosterLincs, so they sometimes come up on eBay.  The XTBR is cheaper, especially if you are skilled enough to assemble it from a kit.

I'll stay tuned!

I had forgotton about JV Engineering single phase booster. JV Digital Engineering, designs and manufactures superior PLC products. (period)

Apologies to Jeff at JV Digital Engineering.
