I have a DirectTv HD H24 receiver. I am having trouble with channels that are more than one digit.

Example: Channel 7 works immediately.
Channel 295 you have to keep the remote pointing to the receiver because the Nstinct pauses between each digit.

If I move my remote away while the 3 digits (ex channel 255) is still populating, I might end up with channel 25 or 55.

Please help.

The remote sends one digit at a time.  You can try to minimize the idle time between sending digits.  Press Home/Setup/Advanced/Options.  Set the "Key Transit Time" to its lowest setting (slider all the way to the left).
