Ghost sd card
« on: December 18, 2011, 08:39:51 AM »

Recently purchased 2 airpad 7p's.  When accessing "manage applications" on both units I can move files to a tf card (approx 2 gig) that in not inserted.  Can also move them back to device.  When I insert a real 32g sdcard the units both recognize it (fat32) but never really move any data to it.  Is there a built in SDcard? Or what am I doing wrong?
Also manage apps show a 1.8g TF card storage.  No card inserted.  Both units have same symptom.

There is built in ( on - board) memory which I believe is 8Gb part of which is reserved for the operating system and the preinstalled Apps.

With an addatinal SD card installed some Apps  and data can be moved to it however not all Apps and data can be moved.

On my 7P I have noticed this too.  With the few apps I've installed, I'm showing 1.9GB free under TF card storage.  I don't have a TF card yet. (Also known as micro SD)  Apps are working the same from either location.

thanks for the two responses.  I don't believe the TF card that shows in the manage applications window is the External storage SD card.
I have not been able to move any apps to the external card. It appears that all the "move to TF card" does is store it on an internal storage card.  When looking under setting then storage the external card is mount but does not show any use of storage.  After mounting the external SD card on pc still no apps or anything from the airpad.  The only file is a PDF I put there from the pc to test the card.  Has anybody moved an app to an external TF card successfully?
PS I have two airpad 7p's, both have same symptoms.

I haven't moved an app, but pictures moved to and from micro SD card.  A little slow to load when on the card, but looks OK to me

I attached an SDmicro card using the USB dongle and an adapter.  I had some pictures on it and could view them in File Manager but couldn't move them anywhere.  How is the move accomplished?

I had some pictures in the device (Airpad 7p) that I took to test the camera.  They were all less than 100KB. A 1-minute video was 5+MB.  I found them in the File Manager (I think there are a couple of ways to find and view the pictures you take) and was able to view them but couldn't move those either; I wanted to put them on the SDmicro that was attached through the USB dongle.

If I click on a picture it just pops up to view, there's no way to select it for a Move command.

(I haven't tried attaching files to Gmail yet. Maybe I could email the pictures to myself.)
