Factory reset
« on: February 22, 2012, 02:09:10 PM »

Two question areas:

  • Does performing a "factory reset" return the AirPad to it's new-out-of-the-box state? Do all apps, wallpapers, audio, video & data files get wiped?
  • How does one go about doing a "factory reset"?

Not that I'm immediately preparing to do this, but I want to know what's involved before it becomes necessary.

Thanks!

On the originals, doing a reset with the paper clip did not cuase the Airpad to lose any Apps
However using the factory reset option found in settings caused the airpad to wipe all data (Apps & setting) it then reverted to the original  factory state (how it was when I first recieved it).
Back up your files and apps to your memory card if possible.
It makes your restore of apps go a little quicker.

Note: I'm not an experianced droid user either and was a bit leary the first time I did this.

LazerFlash,

Your Airpad 7p will be completely erased when you do a factory reset. To do a reset:
With the Ice Cream Sandwich OS: Go into settings and select "backup & reset" and "factory data reset"
With the Gingerbread OS: Go into settings and select "privacy" and "factory data reset"

If you are talking about the AirPad XL, the reset button is on the back cover. I don't think that the button on the side does anything.
