Wiring around a motion detector as a PSC01 alternative?
« on: March 15, 2012, 11:45:49 AM »

If one could bypass/eliminate the detector and  switch control the MS16A it could be used as a switch sensed transmitter.

AAMOF I would like to only send the receiver an OFF signal and have the appliance remain OFF.

EDIT:  Another possible solution is to use the dawn/dusk control.

Instead of just closing/opening a switch, use the switch to turn on a little bulb.

Is the dawn/dusk sensor the whole sensor or just a small portion?

Is this a project too far a reach?

This isn't Twitter, you can use more words without penalty.

If I understand your desire, you want to use the motion sensor to send X10 ON-OFF commands from a contact closure trigger. You can use " Dawn/Dusk" feature /circuit to do this. You substitute the closure for the Cadmium Sulfide cell in the MS16. When the contacts are closed the MS16 will send an OFF command. I believe you can swap this action by cutting a jumper on the board.

When contacts open it will send an ON. The mod for the MS16 is simple if you can drive a soldering iron.

You CAN NOT send only OFF commands.
