X10 standard & Dish Netowk 525 DVR
« on: April 03, 2012, 04:55:50 AM »

I have an x10 video sender/receiver setup with my dish 625 dvr, the picture & Audio works great.  But nothing gets the dish remote to work from the x10 reciever location...no matter what I try(Used IR extender). Anyone else have this issue and have been able to resolve? Thanks guys.

Is the Dish remote an IR remote? If it is IR maybe the IR extender circuit in the X10 Video Sender isn't working. Can you test on a TV in another room?

Do you have the model number of the Video Sender Kit? As there where a few models.

From what I read, the Dish 625 remote is a UHF remote.
It has IR functions that allow it to be used as a universal remote (to control the TV, VCR, DVD, etc). However, it communicates with the Dish box using UHF signals. An IR extender/repeater won't amplify those.

I found the manual confusing.
The Green Button one seems to be IR for TV1 use and the Purple Button for TV2 is definitely RF.

Easy test. Don't point the remote at the 625 and see if you can still control it.
