x39A Airsight can't connect to network lan / wifi
« on: May 01, 2012, 07:01:17 PM »

  Cannot connect the x39A Airsight I just got to the network by either lan or wifi. Have the other 2 types of Airsight IP Cams on the network no problem, running wifi just great. But can only connect to this new x39A directly by laptop and ether cable. There has to be a setting or adjustment, possibly in the router just for this camera that I'm missing. But I've gone over the little manual front to back multiple times and can't see anything.
  Does anyone have any clue?

It's the same procedure the manual has, and I've done it at least 3 or 4 times trying different IP's within my network as well as trying DHCP, which you can't use for wifi by the way  :)

  I love this place...... so far I'm batting 100%  on finding my own solutions, but never this fast, or this stupidly simple.

  My problem it seems is the security level I have setup, even a simple WEP was blocking it, even tough it claims to be able to work with it and a few others as well. But as soon as I turned off all security, it popped right up on the network without any issues using wifi. Still can't figure out the lan part yet though. Would still like some help on that one while I check out the rest of the security settings for wifi and see which will work with ease.

Thank you for sharing.
Since we are all end users like you we have no X10 inside tips on fixes.

   Just an update to my issue here, I haven't been able to find out which security setting to go with since my last post, as my camera went to crap just shortly after my last post. In fact I've had to send back the last 2 camera's I just got , that were just "released" so to say, which makes me worry about the so called quality of these camera's.
   I've got some camera's that I've had for years and have been through all kinds of weather and in places they shouldn't have been, and they've lasted forever. But as of late, it's buy and return, buy and return, over and over. Not sre 'm liking this "new" stuff.

Hello,

I have the same cam and I set my Netgear RouterWireless Connection to:

WPA2-PSK [AES]

and that works..

and set cam to similar...Safe Mode = AES and

Encryption = WAP2-PSK

Hope that helps....
