CM11(G) not just programmable? / direct actions
« on: May 11, 2012, 07:02:54 AM »

Hello there!

I want to experiment with home automation with X10 protocol.

Now my question is: Can I use the CM11 directly to make all actions via the connected computer?
I am a little bit confused because I read 'programmable so it works even when the computer is turned off'.
Because I have a server running here, it should just listen to X10 events and execute commands on the CM11.

Is this possible?

Greetings, Leo

Yes you can use the CM11A to process X10 power line signal sending and receiving. With a serial port connection.
The small memory in it can be used to store timers and simple macros. That run with the computer off, but not used by all programs.
