I still have a Radio Shack X10 security system from year 2000 with three motion detectors and four door/window sensors. I wanted to get a more recent console so I ordered the $99 package as it is compatible with the old components and vice/versa. The first console had problems with some loaded zones not setting off the alarm and the replacement console that I asked for was worse so I returned the whole thing. I am keeping the original as a back up but I just got a MACE system through WalMart and all the compoents are as good or better than the X10. No problems with the MACE so I will be converting over to that. So long X10! You have a lot of problems with the latest batch of consoles. Also, the motion detector I got with the new X10 was only a lousy 12 foot detection range. My old X10 motion detectors have at least a twenty foot range and the MACE motion detectors have at least a 24 foot range.
