Richy
Thanks for the answer.  But I replaced the xx with my address 10.0.0 ect and it did not work my browser said it could not display the page.  So now what? Do i need a different ip address other then the 10.0.0.4 to access the internet?
David

David

where did you get the 10.0.0.4?
there are no . in my exxxx.xipcam.com

that 10.0.0.4 seems to be the version of software for your camera. For example if you there was a new version for your camera, your firmware version would go from 10.0.0.4 to maybe 10.0.0.5... Think APPLE.. iphone1, 2 3 and coming iphone5.

another thing... The DDNS (exxxx.xipcam.com) is on a sticker on your camera.
You can also find it under the system> Device status page next to > DDNS status - it should either be Failed or Succeed.. Failed means something is not set right.

another question.. i am not sure where you are actually trying to add this 10.0.0.4.

If you re setting up your camera from the software under
Networking and get the Basic Network setttings screen

put a check in the box
Obtain IP from DHCP Server
Submit

Your info should look like

IP Addr (will be picked for you)
Subnet Mask (will be picked for you)
Gateway (will be picked for you)
DNS Server (will be picked for you)
Http Port (will be picked for you)

Should be working now

make sure you re doing this with your camera wired to your router.

If "failed" means something is not set up right, what would that something likely be?

Funny you should say that, cause i just checked mines to jog my memory and mines now says FAILED. It was working since others are able or were able to view my video i posted on this forum. Only thing i can think of right now is the server is down.
exxxx.xipcam.com has been working since i purchased this xx40a.

If its the manufactures DDNS, like gipcam.com is no longer in service from what i hear on the forum.

UPDATE:

mines says succeed now... what i did.. i closed the software...ran the ipcamera tool... i highlighted the ip address and right clicked on it
a box will pop up showing

Basic Properties
Network config
Update firmware
refresh camera list
flush arp buffer
about camera tool

I flushed the arp buffer and ran the software like normal and its shows succeed... i checked my cell phone using the cell phone network ( not wifi ) using the ddns address and the camera video works with 4g...... i just think the ddns server was down for a while.
